Bornholm is a Danish island in the southern part of the Baltic Sea, inhabited since 8000 B.C. Known as the sunshine island it has the most sunshine of anywhere in Denmark and a microclimate which allows it to cultivate unique food stuffs that are delicious. All over the island we will discover gastronomic and artistic handicrafts. It is the first island community in Europe to be awarded a World Craft Region title-

Hasle Røgeri is our first tasting stop, offering an authentic old style smoking experience where the daily smoking stops at 10:30am. An intimate museum shows the historical steps in fishing and smoking fish.

Melstedgaard and farming museum with its roots back to early 1600s offers us a peak into history, and another delicious tasting. Here you can get acquainted with over 20 types of apples that only grow here.

Lykkelund is an amazing goat farm run by Lene and Lene, 2 women who will give us an introduction to this lively farm. Enjoy a tasting of either their pastries or goat cheese/meats. The other animals running free are also quite charming to meet.

Svaneke Brewery and brew master Jan Paul will give us a Rack of Beers to taste—they specialize in slow beer brewing and you can appreciate the technique.

Licorice and glass blowing are our next treats. A funny combination? Not really as it is a brother and sister who have combined their creative instincts and share this location. Did you know the best licorice root comes from Iran? There is more to learn!
